WLHN AM was founded
in 1965 and the license to the station was acquired by Jackson
Park Baptist Church in November 1999. The station was purchased
by the church as an additional outreach mechanism for the
residents of east-central Indiana. It is estimated that the
station has up to 7000 listeners.
In March 2003 the
station added streaming audio available 24 hours/day via the
Internet. The addition of the streaming audio greatly increased
the availability of the station’s content to worldwide
listeners.
WJPB FM went on the air in
January 2005 to provide additional outreach on the FM broadcast
band. The FM station is considered low power FM (LPFM) and has
identical content as the AM station and the streaming audio. |
